翅片管換熱器是指選用翅片管作為首要換熱元件的換熱器，當介質換熱狀態為油-油，水-水，氣-氣等等的熱交換場合，往往不需要加裝翅片，因為管內外兩邊的傳熱系數都差不多，加工翅片沒有任何含義，反而影響了介質的活動，對于傳熱是不利的。當然，站在強化傳熱的角度，對于怎么進步翅片管換熱器的傳熱總系數也是有值得學習的當地。當管內外傳熱膜系數相差較大的時分，應該選用翅片管來添加傳熱系數不足一面的觸摸面積，以彌補傳熱才能不足的問題。所以，在規劃翅片管換熱器的時分，翅片都是加在傳熱系數較差的一面。如蒸汽加熱空氣，空氣的傳熱才能很低，就應該加工翅片，因為管內加工翅片的難度比較高，那就在管外加工翅片。當然，空氣就只能在管外活動，也契合了規劃原則“管內走高溫高壓的介質，管外走低溫低壓的介質”。

還有一種換熱器，選用波紋管或者波節管，等于是兩邊都添加了觸摸面積，也起到了擾流的作用，這樣的換熱管就合適用于油-油，水-水，氣-氣等等的熱交換場合。這個不在本文的論述規模。
